WRJFD Microsoft 365 MFA Setup Entirely on Phone

Setting up Poland Fire Email MFA Entirely on Phone

On or after August 17, 2025 you will be prompted to set up multifactor authentication on your @polandfire.org account. If you only use your account on your phone, here are instructions for getting set up

First, you will see a message similar to the one below. Tap “Next”:

Next you will see an explanation about getting the Microsoft Authenticator app. Tap “Download now” or if you already have it downloaded, tap “Next”.

After installing the app and tapping “Next,” you are brought to the next screen. Tap “Pair your account to the app by clicking this link”. If you are trying to set up the app on a different phone or device, you can click “Show QR code” and hold the other device up to this one to add the account via that code. Since this guide focuses on one single phone, we’ll focus on the first option.

Your phone will ask you to Open the link in “Authenticator”. Tap “Open”.

Once added (it will be fast and if you have several accounts, you may need to scroll to the bottom to see it was added) head back to the original screen and tap “Next”.

You will then be prompted to try the authentication method. You should get a notification on your phone. Enter the number shown on the screen into the box on the notification or within the Authenticator app.

Once you do you should get this page or simply get your list of accounts. You can head back to the original screen you were logging in on.

Now tap “Next”.

You should get a message that your Authenticator app waas successfully registered. You may click “Done”. Now you may continue your login if needed and it may generate another notification for the login (the first one was just to test the setup, don’t forget).
